Rain to Join the Korean Army Soon

Korea's pop sensation Rain will soon be joining the Korean Army.

Korean pop star Rain will join the Korean Army next month as he must fulfill his mandatory military service. He is scheduled to report October 11th. He will join the Uijeongbu 306 Reserve Battalion.

On his official website last week, he posted: “I will enlist in the army next month. It’s been almost 10 years since I made my debut and I was able to do so many things thanks to my fans’ love and support. I truly appreciate having tried to do my best and having experienced many honorable moments.”

Rain becomes the second major celebrity in the past year to enlist in the army. Actor Hyun Bin also joined the army in March, and has received rave reviews for his service.

Rain recently completed his final performance this weekend of his "The Best Show" tour at Seoul's Olympic Park.
