BUSAN, South Korea -- With an increasing number of foreign guests each year, PIFF has stepped up its efforts to make ticketing a little less stressful. According to PIFF press representatives, “The official ticketing website www.piff.kr provides easier access to foreigners who want to buy tickets.”
Whether or not that is the case, remains to be seen. Complaints about various ticketing problems on opening sales day were abound on Internet sites, and some moviegoers were out-of-luck as the systems were inundated with ticket requests. However, PIFF is hoping to provide better service in order for everyone to have a more enjoyable festival experience.
PIFF increases its services to reach its audience easier
A Korean/English call center is also available for those who need information quickly. Currently, the call center is popular with questions ranging from traffic in Pusan, accommodation, weather conditions and more. The call center is available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
In order to provide up-to-the-minute updates on PIFF events, the Pusan International Film Festival launched Twitter, Facebook and DAUM Yozm. The Pusan International Film Festival is quickly adapting to serve the needs of their international audience by providing a live Twitter update in Korean and English, as well as Facebook updates in English. Festival-goers can now get the same information they used to get offline by live SNS updates.
Through Daum Yozm and Twitter, you can check the detailed event schedules and the guests who are appearing at those events. Furthermore, Daum Yozm and Twitter provides extra information on the entertainment scene in Busan and restaurants for those who want to take a break from the festival and catch some sites around the city. Daum Yozm will actively communicate with its audience from the opening day of October 7th, until the closing ceremony on October 15th.

The 15th Pusan International Film Festival has released its official trailer to the public. The official trailer was created by one of Korea’s most promising animation directors, Yeon Sang-ho. Director Lee Chang-dong of Poetry pitched the idea for the trailer.
The animation features the character of Kim Dong-ho, who motorcycles his way around the city in order to get to the places he needs to be during the festival. The trailer begins with Busan’s signature marks, the seagull and Jagalchi Market.
“I wanted to show how Mr. Kim’s indefatigable efforts to make the Pusan International Film Festival the eminent film festival where people from Busan, Asia and all over the world can enjoy,” Yeon explained.
The 15th Pusan International Film Festival’s official trailer will be shown before all the screenings, starting with the opening screening on the 7th.
