BUSAN, South Korea -- Lotte manager Yang Seung-ho handed in his resignation today, after two years at the helm of the Giants. The 52-year-old Yang resigns just a week after Lotte's latest failure to advance to the finals on the 22nd in the Korean Baseball Organization, after losing the semifinal best-of-five series to SK.
Yang finishes his two-year stint with the Giants compiling a 137-118-11 record after taking over the helm from Jerry Royster, who also failed to deliver a finals appearance with the club.
This was Yang's first time managing in the pros and even with the bitter loss of perennial all-star Lee Dae-ho to Japan, he still managed to get the Giants into the playoffs.
The team will start the search for a new manager, as well as a pitching coach, as Yoon Hyung-bad will also not be re-signed next season.
