BUSAN, South Korea - The KT Sonic Boom swept their weekend games this weekend, first defeating Seoul Samsung Thunders in Seoul on Saturday, then winning at home Sunday afternoon at home against last place Goyang Orions.

On Saturday in Seoul, Charles Rhodes and Park Sang-Oh  teamed up to power KT past the Samsung Thunders 83-67. Rhodes poured in 20 points, added 15 rebounds and blocked 5 shots. Park chipped in 21 as his confidence seems to have returned after some early season struggles.

Peter John Ramos led Samsung Thunders with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks.

On Sunday, the Sonic Boom struggled early, but managed to regain control of the game in the second and third quarter, and hold off a late charge defeating the Goyang Orions 69-65.

Goyang broke out to an early 15 point lead, as the Sonic Boom's Charles Rhodes picked up two early fouls and Goyang took advantage of the mismatch in the paint. Goyang thoroughly outplayed KT in the first quarter and led 21-7, as the Sonic Boom shot a woeful 27% from the field, compared to Goyangs 64%.

The Sonic Boom used a 16-2 run to start the second quarter, and tied the score at 23 on a Rhodes alley-oop. Rhodes scored 10 second quarter points before picking up his third foul with a minute to go in the half. The teams went into halftime tied at 27.

The Sonic Boom came out running in the third, opening up an 11 point lead. KT outscored Goyang 23-11 in the quarter, as Goyang's shooting struggles continued. Over the second and third quarter, they shot a combined 8 for 23 from the field, including 1 for 12 from behind the 3 point line. KT also outscored them 43-17 during the two quarters.

Goyang staged a late comeback in the fourth coming to within 1 with 8.6 seconds left on a banked 3 by Kim Min-Seup, but Cho Sung-Min's free throws with 2.8 seconds left helped to secure the Sonic Boom's fourth straight win. Charles Rhodes led KT with 27 points and 15 rebounds, while Park Sang-Oh chipped in 13.

Lee Dong-joon led Goyang with 14 points, while Chris Williams added 13 points and 10 rebounds.
