South Korea will face three Middle Eastern countries in qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup, which takes place in Brazil.
At the drawing yesterday in Brazil, South Korea was grouped with 95th ranked Kuwait, 109th ranked UAE, and 159th ranked Lebanon. South Korea is currently ranked 28th in the latest FIFA poll.
Though they are favored to progress, they were given a big blow this past weekend when star forward Lee Chong-yong broke his leg playing in a warm-up for the EPL season for Bolton. He is expected to be out for nine months.
They will first play against Lebanon at home on September 2nd, followed by an away game with Kuwait on September 6th.
They follow by playing a home-and-home series with the United Arab Emirates, at home on October 11th, and then away on November 11th.
They round out the schedule playing in Lebanon on November 15th, and finally at Kuwait on February 29th, 2012.
