Korean Basketball Starts Training For the Olympics

The South Korean National Basketball team has begun training today in Anyang, in preparation for their Olympic qualifiers with Russia and the Dominican Republic this July in Venezuela.

ANYANG, South Korea - The South Korean National Basketball team has begun training today in Anyang, in preparation for their Olympic qualifiers with Russia and the Dominican Republic this July in Venezuela.
According to Seo Jung-hwan of Jumpball Magazine, the KBA has selected 24 players, including 19 professionals for the tryouts. The team will be whittled down to 16 after the 11 day camp.
Nine men’s national teams (Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, France, Great Britain, Spain, Tunisia and USA) have already qualified. The last three teams will qualify via the 12-team FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) for men taking place in Caracas, Venezuela, June 2nd to the 8th. The OQT (Men) teams are: Angola, Dominican Republic, FYROM, Greece, Jordan, Korea, Lithuania, New Zealand, Nigeria, Puerto Rico, Russia and hosts Venezuela according to the London 2012 website.
Guard Cho Sung-min is KT’s lone representative locally.
