Kindy, Elementary and Middle Schools Closed Tomorrow

Local schools have already decided to cancel classes tomorrow in anticipation of Typhoon Sanga.

BUSAN, South Korea -- Kindergartens, elementary and middle schools around Busan will be closed tomorrow according to the Busan Ilbo newspaper. High schools have yet to make an announcement, though it is currently up to the discretion of the principal whether to shorten classes or cancel for the day. Teachers are however, expected to report.
The closing affects 371 kindergartens, 298 elementary schools, 171 middle schools and 13 special schools around the city. Busan Foreign School has also canceled classes for the day.
Universities around the city have yet to make any announcements.
Weather officials warned that Sanba could be one of the strongest typhoons to ever hit South Korea, almost as devastating as Typhoon Maemi in 2003, which left 132 people dead and caused massive property damages according to the Korea Times. The storm is expected to be at full strength in Busan by mid-afternoon with a possibility of 400 mm of rain.
