Busan's Mayor Walks Down the Red Carpet at Cannes

Hur Nam-sik, the mayor of Busan, has walked down the red carpet of Cannes. He was invited to the 65th Cannes International Film Festival, that was held from May 16, as the Head of the BIFF Committee.


BUSAN, South Korea - Hur Nam-sik, the mayor of Busan, has walked down the red carpet of Cannes. He was invited to the 65th Cannes International Film Festival, that was held from May 16, as the Head of the BIFF Committee. He visited Cannes, France over 6 days, from May 18 to 23, and not only met leading dignitaries in Cannes but also signed an agreement with foreign film organizations for the promotion of Korean movies. Especially with the Cannes Film Market, an agreement was reached to share databases with BIFF's Asian Film Market. The Cannes Film Market is one of the world's largest film markets.

Mayor Hur also co-hosted the 'Korean Movie Night' event with the Korean Film Council, during his stay in France, and had time to promote Korean movies and the BIFF there.
