Police said today that they had identified a 10-year-old boy as a suspect in the death of a middle-aged woman hit by a falling brick.
On Oct 8th, the 55-year-old victim, identified by her surname Park, was killed while building a shelter for feral cats at an apartment complex in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
Another 29-year-old female victim was severely injured.
The Yongin Seobu Police Station suspects that the boy, identified by the initial A, threw the cement brick from the roof of the apartment building where he lives.
The elementary school student allegedly threw the brick, along with two other friends, after observing an experiment related to gravity.
Police officers said the boy did not intend to harm the victim, adding he is not the subject of criminal prosecution as he is under 14.
The case has drawn attention from local media after witnesses or clues failed to surface in the past week.
