BUSAN, South Korea — The Polar Bear Swimming Competition takes place every January at Haeundae Beach and for this season’s event, it is scheduled on the 20th of January, 2013. This event is a unique annual winter festival in Busan, which started back in 1988 to celebrate the Seoul Olympics. Other events also will be held to boost up the festival mood: standing on ice the longest, eating icicles, obstacle relay races and more. The application for next year’s event will be available in mid-December on the official website here.
