University Enrollment to Drop in 2017 in Busan

A new report shows that a total number of students who will be attending the city’s 15 four-year universities for the academic year beginning in 2017 will decrease by 2,800 compared to figures from 2014.

Based on the analysis of implementation plans for college entrance exam submitted to the Korean Council for University Education, the total number of students who will attend four-year universities in Busan in 2017 is 34,000 students, which is a significant decrease from last year’s figures.

Dong-A University recorded the sharpest decline with an 11 percent drop, followed by Dong-eui University, Busan University of Foreign Studies, Dongmyeong  University and Yeongsan University.
